Project 110

The Project 110 has to do with planting and revitalizing a hundred and ten churches within ten years. The preparation for the accomplishment of this has begun with prayer chain by all Newlifers since August 2013. God willing, the project will commence fully by 2015.

The Lord, by His mercies has helped Newlife Baptist Church, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria to plant forty-three churches and adopted three for the purpose of revitalization. Most of these were done between 1998 and 2008.

While some of these churches have grown to become self-governing, self-financing and self-propagating churches, many are still being nurtured to maturity.

It is noteworthy that church planting in Newlife has become one of the most exciting times in our church life. The work is not left to the mission and evangelism team alone rather, all the church members are actively involved. The entire congregation is usually divided into groups based on the number of churches to be planted within a particular weekend. A pastor and selected deacons are appointed to coordinate the activity of each group, namely: Transportation, Door-to-door Evangelism, Meals, etc. Each group is then dispatched to the area assigned for the church plant on a Friday to come back on Sunday with results (not just reports) after the inaugural service.

Funding: The funding of all our church planting and church revitalization work, has been chiefly through the church, tithes and offerings as well as donations from members. Some Christians outside our local church have also helped us financially on few occasions.

Till date, Newlife Baptist Church, Road 24, Off Agip Road, Rumueme, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria is responsible for the payment of over thirty pastors laboring in our daughter churches. This means that the planting and revitalization of additional 110 churches in the next 10 years would increase the burdens of the faithfuls in Newlife.

It is for the forgoing reason that the Lord is leading us to meet mission-minded Christians and mission loving bodies like you to “strengthen our hands” (Neh. 6:9) by assisting in providing the needed finance required to prosecute Project 110.

Specifically, our target is to raise N500m in the next 10years. This amount is needed for the church planting programmes, rents, purchase of land, musical instruments, PA systems, mobility, trainings, and payments of pastor’s salaries, allowances and pension over the same period.

We therefore need mission–minded Christians and bodies like you who will be willing to allow God to use them to financially support project 110.

Suggested options include:

1.A donation of N10m per anum in the next 5years.

2 A donation of N5m in the next 5yrs.

3 A onetime donation of N1m.

4 A donation of N500,000.00 per anum for the next 5yrs.

5 A onetime donation of N500,000.00.

6 A donation of N100,000.00 per anum in the next 5yrs or more.

7 Giving of extra tithe per month for 5yrs. (Project 110 extra).
