DIACONATE

To serve at ordinances. Assist the pastorate with the worship celebrations of the Lord’s supper and baptism

Serve effectively in coordinating various financial, personnel, business matters and committees of the church.

To serve as associates in the pastoral ministry. To work closely with the pastors by supporting and assisting in providing ministry to the congregation in the areas of nurturing right relationships, providing spiritual care for church members.

To attend to the welfare of members in accordance with the scriptures and other duties as may be assigned by the pastorate.

To be involved in conflict resolution of church members and family members.

To assist the mission pastors in the work of mission and evangelism

Teaching in Sunday school and discipleship classes

Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
SECRETARIAT
-
Performing all secretarial aspects of the church
-
Receiving and responding to all correspondence on behalf of the church
-
Taking announcements
-
Keep a record of church activities and inform church members accordingly.
-
Take minutes of meeting in church council, family, association, conference, convention meetings.
-
Perform duties relating to signatory activities of the church account.
-
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the pastorate.

Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
FINANCE TEAM
-
Receiving the tithes and offering of the church
-
Keeping financial records of the church relating to the income and expenditure of the church
-
Advice the church pastorate, diaconate and council of financial matters
-
Perform duties relating to signatory activities of the church account.

Present audited financial report monthly to the church council
-
Act as the custodian of the church funds
-
Assist in the payment of salaries, dues, pension of church workers
-
Disburse funds to teams/persons as may be authorized by the relevant persons
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
-
Present other income sources to the church in partnership with investment team
AUDIT TEAM
-
Auditing the accounts of the church/ all church investment accounts
-
Check and ascertain the appropriateness of the financial records and dealings of the church
-
Assist in the preparation of church budget
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
MUSIC TEAM
-
Supervise choir members in regular attendance of member to choir practice.
-
To ensure encourage right relationship amongst members
-
Encourage and participate in visitation of members.
-
Ensure discipline amongst members.
-
Assist in the training of singers and instrumentalists.
-
Ensure that choir robes and choir accessories and kept in good condition
-
Shall be accountable for all church items with the team

Assist in organising music festival
-
Ensure church musical instrument are in good working condition always.

Assist the music pastors in any duty that may be assigned

Lead the church in worship and praise

Minister to the congregation through special renditions

Raise and groom potential members to be able to coordinate the music ministry

To render melodious songs during church service

Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEAM
-
Ensure members are well enlisted in Sunday school lessons or classes
-
Prepare Sunday school teachers adequately for Sunday school classes
-
Visit and follow up members at the Sunday school class level
-
Monitor the progress and commitment of class members
-
Identify the spiritual gifts of class member and help develop the gifts
-
Develop potential Sunday school teachers
-
To teach the scriptures
-
Revelation and exposition of the word of God
-
Sunday school secretary is to keep all attendance of Sunday school attendees
-
To note the performance of each class
-
To keep the assessment record of each class
-
Members are to learn and contribute meaningfully during Sunday school classes
-
Attend external workshops and seminar relating to Sunday school activities.

Promote Sunday school activities
-
Organise visitation to members
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
MEMBERSHIP TEAM
-
To provide the church-membership a directory.
-
To update a church membership, directory annually.
-
To teach the MOC to new members.
-
To ensure that intending members fulfill the requirements for church membership before their induction .
-
To visit new and old members from time to time.
-
To monitor the trend in church membership growth and report same to the church council and quarterly.
PUBLICATION TEAM
-
To assist the church in publicizing all her programmes internally and externally.
-
To assist the church in recording all church programme / events on audio, CD, VCD, etc.
-
To assist the church in the publication of tracts, newsletter, books etc.
-
To advice and assist the church in securing necessary equipment that can facilitation and enhance the quality of our worship.
-
To maintain, protect every church equipment and properly in their custody.
TECHNICAL TEAM
-
They must take the inventory of all the sound reinforcement and know what the church has and which of them are functioning well and which of them are not.
-
They must also take the inventory of the electrical equipment as well as generating plant and know those that are in good order and not.
-
These sound reinforcement and electrical equipment must be given good maintenance.
-
This team must in attendance at every meeting in their proper number – 1 Chro. 23: 30 – 32.
-
They must see to it that the atmosphere is conducive for worship – That, the worship hall is well illuminated – that the sound reinforcement is ready before the meeting starts. If the generator is needed then it must be put on before the meeting commences.
-
If any bulb dies it must be promptly replaced by this team.
-
For any special program organized by the church, either in the church premises or outside, this team is to put every thing in order to make the place conducive to worship. Like hiring of chairs if needed, Lightening system sound reinforcement.
-
This team supposes to handle all these sound and electrical with all sense of accountability knowing full well that some of the equipment can easily be damage if care is not taken.
-
This team must know that the same way their department can enhance worship if it is carefully handle, it can also disorganize worship service if adequate preparation is not made.
-
They must learn to anticipate problem and deal with beforehand. Say for instance fuel in reserve, extra batteries and so on.
-
Above all after every setting of equipment before the meeting starts, they must pray and plead the blood of Jesus Christ on the equipment.
-
They must have done sound check and make sure the volume is already set.
-
They must be ready and prompt to help any worship leader that is struggling with how to turn-on the microphone.
DECORATION TEAM
-
To assist in the day-to-day inferior and exterior decoration of the church.
-
To plan and maintain the church laws and gardens
SECURITY TEAM
-
To provide adequate human security officers
-
To provide adequate human security to the church members and their property during every worship service.
-
To ensure adequate security of all church property.
-
To ensure that members cars, etc are secured during every church service.
-
To provide necessary human shield for the Pastorate.
-
To handle every known security – related problems of the church
-
To provide security councselling to members who may be in such need.
CHURCH SUPPORT
-
To assist in taking care of church guests (e.g. Invited preachers etc) by preparing their food etc as at when due.

To provide refreshment for the Pastorate and other officiating ministers as at when due
-
To supply refreshment to the various teams in the church that may be in such need.

To manage the church buttery.
BUILDING TEAM
-
Provide plans for building projects

Obtain necessary statutory approvals for buildings
-
Coordinate building activities when need arise
-
Keep copies of all documentation for future reference
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
SCHOOL TEAM
-
Provide leadership for the school to achieve a high academic standard at all times
-
Ensure the school statutory documentations are up to date
-
Ensure optimum enrolment of new student each session
-
Ensure school curricula are relevant to the development of Godly and responsible children
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
-
Conduct promotion exercise for school staff
-
Ensure school staff are adequately motivated/disciplined
-
Make policies for the schools
-
Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
FIRST IMPRESSION TEAM
-
Serve as the front desk personnels of the church
-
Cheerfully welcome visitors and church members alike to the church
-
Usher people to their seats
-
Act as protocol persons to the officiating ministers
-
Collect tithes and offerings
-
Ensure good seating arrangement in the church and any other church organized program
-
Be willing to serve in any capacity that may be assigned
-
Be observant at all times during church programs and report any ungodly behaviours to the pastorate.

Be familiar with the church environment

Be role models of good conduct in and out of the church

Be polite at all times to worshippers

Maintain decorum during worship services
BUDGET TEAM
-
Prepare annual budget for the church
-
Train team and organizational heads on how to prepare budget

Periodically analyse church spend pattern with a view to showing potential areas of concern
LEGAL TEAM

Provide legal advice to the church
-
Ensure that statutory documents for the church are obtained and kept appropriately. Such document may relate to landed properties, church activities, church assets etc.

Be the custodian of all church legal documentations

Provide legal representation for the church when need arise
DRAMA TEAM
-
Provide suitable drama that convey spiritual lessons and messages

Carry out drive to encourage new members to join the team

Train members to become good Christian role models
INVESTMENT TEAM

Manage existing investment for the church profitably
-
Advice the church on new investment opportunities
-
Provide investment advice to members of the church
-
Mobilise the church for new investment funding
PASTORS’ WELFARE TEAM
-
Carry out periodic review of the welfare package for the pastors to ensure they are in-line with current economic realities
-
Carry out routine visit to pastors’ to know needs not communicated
GOLD LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
-
Liaise with the pastorate to identify training needs for the various teams and organisation of the church

Identify trainings to appropriately meet the development needs of members
-
Organise and resource training programs for the church
-
Analyse team reports for the purpose on identifying areas of challenges and provide reports for necessary actions

Keep a record of team/organization report submission
COUNSELLING/FOLLOW-UP TEAM
-
Ensure counseling needs of church members are prayerfully meet. Teach, visit, encourage and pray with members

Make referrals to the diaconate or the pastorate as the need maybe

Give regular report on the activities of the team to the supervising deacon/pastorate/ church council
-
Provide guidance and assign disciples to new converts
-
Follow-up new members to ensure they are well grounded in the faith.
TRANSPORT TEAM
-
To oversee the church transport unit.
-
To interview, supervise church drivers.
-
To assist the church in hiring vehicles during special occasion.

To ensure regular maintenance of church vehicles
-
To advice members safety and proper maintenance of their vehicles and machines.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE TEAM
-
To plan family enrichment programme for the church. This should be in consultation with the Pastorate.

To interview prospective couples promptly and make appropriate recommendation to the church council from time to time.
-
To counsel prospective couples on the church marriage guidelines and ensure compliance.
-
To assist in counseling couples and also mediate in family crisis.
-
To visit families (esp. hurting families) in the church from time to time.
-
To constantly intercede for all members to have a successful, peaceful and happy married life.
USHERING TEAM
-
To serve as church greeters
-
To assist in getting ready the church worship halls for all her fellowship meetings.
-
To ensure that worshippers sit appropriately, correctly and comfortably in the church.
-
To ensure safe keeping, protection and good use of church vessels in their custody e.g chairs, hymn books, etc.
-
To ensure that all hymn books etc are returned to the rack after every worship experience.
-
To ensure quietness and reverence in all church gathering.
-
To enforce church stand on modest dressing e.t ladies having a covering on their heads etc.
-
To take and record the census of worshippers in every meeting.
-
To serve as the church police during church meetings.
